I love the change from summer to autumn, and for the children its very easy to see the changes going on around them, all the different colours on the trees, leaves everywhere, even more things to collect in the park than usual. At the weekend the girls had made an autumn display for the wall using leaf rubbings (the last photo). Then this week we made some lovely autumn trees. They involved taking a toilet roll, making two slits in the sides of them, and a tree shaped piece of cardboard slotted into the slits. Then the children decorated the tree shapes with lovely autumn colours of tissue paper. On our daily walk to school we see just about every different colour of leaf, and I tried to make sure than as many as possible of these colours were available to the children for sticking on.
