Today we tried looking at and drawing shells; some shells collected from the beach, some small pieces of paper taped to the tuff tray and some drawing and colouring pencils. I had set it up more with the older children in mind but the little ones were interested too and they loved it!
They liked picking up the shells to listen for the sea and look at the different shapes of the shells. Then they loved the little pieces of paper to draw on, taping them to the tray was great for the little ones as its sometimes tricky for them when the paper moves about so much. We also tried drawing round some of the shells and colouring them in. They used all the pieces of paper and we had to put more out before the older children came back from school!
