We have done lots of shape activities this month which don’t quite fill a whole post on their own, but it seems a shame to leave them out so I’ve put a few of them together in one post. The Magformer magnets have become a favourite toy since Christmas, and are great for older children to make 3D shapes, and for the younger children to make their own flat shapes on the floor. They also look really nice on the light table.
We’ve also baked shape cookies and painted paper plates, which when dry, we cut into quarters and stuck the corner of each quarter into the corner of a square piece of card.
I have also aquired a couple of good books about shapes recently, the favourite being a jigsaw book, with a few puzzle pieces on each page.
